Things to do on a cold winter day...

I was on my way into the kitchen several times today to start a batch of soap. But, I got side-tracked when I heard a commotion out side. The city tree-trimmers were on our block. I'm a curious bugger and it wasn't long before I was out in the street talking to the guys. I flushed out some neighbors and asked them to move their cars. This peaked A.J.'s curiosity--the other curious bugger that lives accross the street from me. Turns out, we made buddies with the guys, I made coffee for everyone, and I think A.J. and the boys have a BBQ planned soon. (Not really, but...you know.)

We bundled up for the 18 degree temp and hung out with the trimmers, chatting, drinking coffee, and "supervising" the job. They did a great job and it was interesting.

Super Bowl XLII

We went to the Grill to watch the game on the "big screen" with a few of the usual lounge lizzards last night. I had made a bet with my son-in-law, Ernie, who lives in the Seattle area, that the NE Patriots would win. He liked the Giants. If the Patriots won, he would send me a fresh salmon from the great Northwest. If the Giants won, I would send him some products from Missouri. I was looking forward to some fresh salmon.

As we all know, the Giants pulled it out and put the Patriots away 17-14 in the last six minutes of a previously boring game. Now, I didn't really care who won the game, but I was sure looking forward to eating some fresh wild salmon. Congratulations, Ernie! You are getting canned road kill from Missouri.

Grandma's visit to Seattle

I flew to Seattle to visit my growing granddaughters last week. We just kicked back, baked cookies, made bread, painted toenails, went shopping, went out to lunch, played games and watched TV.
